General FAQs

What can I expect during a Biofield Tuning session?

This answer pertains to what happens during an in-person Biofield Tuning session (when practitioner and client are in the same room). To learn what happens during an audio session or group audio session, please scroll to the section titled, “Audio & Distance Session FAQs”.

During an in-person Biofield Tuning session, the client lies fully clothed, face up, on a treatment table (much like a massage table) while the Biofield Tuning practitioner applies the handles of vibrating tuning forks to specific points on the client’s body. The practitioner also slowly moves tuning forks over the recipient’s body.

Clients will feel the difference in the vibration of the tuning forks depending on which spot is being touched. They will also hear how the sound of the tuning fork changes depending on where the fork is held over the body.

The practitioner works towards the body starting from about 5-6 feet away, listening for “noise” in the “signal” and feeling for a sense of resistance. When they encounter an area of perturbation, they pause.

The introduction of the coherent frequency of the tuning fork into a client’s area of incoherence causes the body to “auto-tune” itself, resulting in a resolution of the “noise” and a releasing of the resistance held in relationship to it.

The resistance or charge that was held in that particular area is then dissolved and “swept back” into circulation.

The simple action of treating areas of dissonance in a client’s energy field creates targeted and immediate relaxation that can bring resolution to a wide variety of ailments.

Biofield Tuning is cumulative; every session builds on the one prior to it. Like chiropractic trains the bones to find their balanced relationship, Biofield Tuning trains the magnetic/electric system of the body to flow in a balanced, rhythmically harmonious way. If a person has had long-term, extreme, non-beneficial inputs, it will take longer to achieve balance. Younger people respond more quickly than older people. Generally, a minimum of three sessions is recommended to begin. Often, a presenting symptom can be cleared within three sessions. If there is no change in a condition after three sessions then it is likely that Biofield Tuning will not be able to help with that particular condition.
There are no age limits however less is more with both seniors and children, who generally should receive shorter sessions. Children between the ages of 2-6 can become very hyperactive after a session.
Many Biofield Tuning Practitioners have reported that clients with conditions such as Parkinson’s, MS and diabetes have experienced relief in symptoms via Biofield Tuning treatments. **Please note, although Biofield Tuning can work well for these conditions, please read through the Cautions and Guidance guidelines HERE if you have active cancer, are pregnant, are terminally ill or have an implanted electronic device.**
Yes. We view conditions such as depression and/or bipolar disorders as “tonal” imbalances rather than chemical imbalances, which can be readily addressed with Biofield Tuning. For example, during a Biofield Tuning scan a bipolar person will exhibit “high tones” associated with anxiety and mania, as well as “low tones” linked with depression, but a “mid-tone” range will be absent. In such cases, the Practitioner uses Biofield Tuning to quiet the high tones and lift the low tones which in turn will strengthen the mid-tone range. This helps the recipient achieve a more balanced state.
Animals respond beautifully to Biofield Tuning. Biofield Tuning has helped pets stop being fearful of thunder, more trusting of strangers, stop fussing with hotspots, and generally enter a healthier, relaxed state. Pets respond well to in-person Biofield Tuning and also when they receive Biofield Tuning from a distance (aka known as “remote sessions”).

Biofield Tuning recipients may experience a “detox response” after a session. This is completely normal and means the body is releasing stress and trauma. Generally, these symptoms pass within 1-3 days.

The following are possible symptoms of detox:

  • Fatigue
  • Waves of emotions – crying, being angry, sad
  • Loose stools
  • Exhaustion
  • Headachesand /or dizziness
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • In very rare instances – skin rashes, mucus, fevers, vomiting, excessive thirst

In a sound bath, participants are immersed in a soothing auditory experience that typically involves the use of various instruments such as crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes. The goal is to create a meditative atmosphere, allowing individuals to relax and let the vibrations of sound wash over them. Sound baths are often characterized by a group setting where participants lie down or sit comfortably, surrounded by sounds that promote relaxation and stress relief.

A biofield tuning session is a more targeted approach to sound therapy. In biofield tuning, practitioners use tuning forks to detect and adjust the body’s energy field, also known as the biofield. The tuning forks are applied to specific points around the body, working to identify and harmonize any energetic blockages or imbalances. This modality is based on the idea that the body has its own unique vibrational frequency, and by using tuning forks, practitioners aim to bring the biofield back into a state of coherence (aka in a state of harmony), promoting overall well-being.

While both sound baths and biofield tuning involve the therapeutic use of sound, the key difference lies in their approach and focus. Sound baths offer a more generalized experience to promote relaxation. Biofield Tuning is a more personalized practice that targets specific energy points to address individual energetic imbalances while also providing a soothing and calming effect.

Biofield tunings can be conducted both in 1-on-1 sessions and in group settings. While individual sessions offer personalized attention and tailored treatments to address specific needs, group sessions provide a collective experience where participants can benefit from the shared energy and resonance of the group. Whether in a private session or a group setting, the principles and effects of biofield tuning remain consistent, promoting relaxation, balance, and well-being.

Audio & Distance Session FAQs

What is a distance Biofield Tuning session?
A distance Biofield Tuning session is when a Biofield Tuning practitioner works with a client or clients who are not in the same room with the practitioner. The distance between the Practitioner and the receiver does not lessen the effects and outcome of the energy shifts that take place during the session.
During a one-on-one distance session a client reclines comfortably at home and connects with the practitioner via phone or Zoom. The session is conducted in the same manner as if both people were in the same room. The practitioner is able to find the same patterns of feedback variation as they move through the field around the recipient’s body from a distance as if they were actually there. Some practitioners may work without a live connection, but rather with intention and then connect with the client afterwards to discuss the session. Note: Biofield Tuning cannot be practiced at a distance on someone who has not agreed to receive the work.

In a group distance session, participants connect by phone or internet to listen to a 45-60 min audio broadcast of a Certified Practitioner working within the “collective energetic field.” The Practitioner works within the field of “everyone present on the live call and anyone who will listen to the call in the future.”

The work is a combination of education, coaching and deep energetic shifting.

75% of survey respondents say they experienced a sense of energy moving in their bodies during these sessions. (Please note: the session is still working even if you do not have a visceral sense of energy moving through your body). Participants of multiple sessions report feeling more resilient, clear, grounded, lighter and a experiencing a wide variety of diminished symptoms.

Recordings of sessions can be listened to as many times as one would like.

Audio Biofield Tuning is much like a distance Biofield Tuning session except instead of working with a Practitioner in real time, the recipient is listening to a pre-recorded session targeted to a specific area and/or concern. Audio sessions may be listened to at your leisure.
In the five years that Audio Distance sessions have been conducted, thousands of people have received them and very few adverse reactions have been reported. If you are interested in experiencing a Biofield Tuning Audio Session, it’s recommended to pay close attention to how your body is feeling while listening. In all cases, trust your own senses and choose sessions accordingly. Consider listening to this free audio session, “Overcoming Overwhelm,” which is a gentle introduction to this modality. The focus of this audio session is to remain centered and calm in situations that may be overwhelming.
Biofield Tuning founder Eileen McKusick scoffed at the idea of practicing Biofield Tuning from a distance until she was persuaded by Dr. Karl Maret to test its effects. Their first distance session was performed via speaker phone. Dr. Maret rested on a treatment table in California while Eileen stood at her table in Vermont. She approached the table with her tuning forks as if Dr. Maret were on the table in front of her and much to her amazement, she encountered patterns of changing tones, resistance and distortion. Dr. Maret reported feeling energy shifting in his body during the session, and after he reported feeling different and relief from symptoms. Based on this test session, Eileen decided to conduct a series of experiments testing the legitimacy of distance sessions. Her experiments showed that the information present in the electromagnetic field is consistent and predictable regardless of distance. The same pattern of information storage in the biofield anatomy repeats in everyone; the frequency signatures of each emotion, each ailment are the same (at least as far as Eileen has been able to determine so far). To learn more about this phenomenon, please see the FAQ question below titled, “What is the aether?”.
One of the biggest omissions in our collective cosmology or understanding of the nature of life is “aether”. Essentially luminiferous, aether is the ocean of clear light that all of creation arises from. Information travels through this medium much faster than light speed because the information of the entire field is accessible at any point. While the term “aether” is not in our popular lexicon, the concept of the phenomenon persists, and has been referred to by many other names including “the zero-point field,” “the source field,” “the torsion field,” “the field,” “the Akashic field,” and even “the Higg’s field,” whose definition, “an invisible energy field that exists throughout the universe,” is very similar to the definition of aether. This can potentially explain the mechanics of how distance healing works. With your intention, transfer your awareness from your left foot and then into your right hand. Notice that there is no sense of that awareness having to travel in a linear way through your body. In this same way, a client can place their intention, their awareness and their consciousness on a treatment table, regardless of where it is in actuality. It is through this same kind of intention that vibrational patterns can be found at a distance with a Biofield Tuning practitioner’s tuning fork and modulated into a more coherent and harmonic expression. As the non-local interconnective medium that unifies us all in real time, aether is the missing link in so-called paranormal phenomena such as remote viewing and distance healing.
